So what can we offer you? If you're looking for money or fame I'm afraid you're in the wrong place. However if you're looking for regular competitive hockey, a strong club spirit and a thriving social scene then you may have struck gold.
The best way to give the club a try is to come along to training on a Tuesday night (details on Training page). Have a run around and have a pint with us in the pub afterwards. If you don't want to join us we'll give you your money (£1) back!

Welcome to Croydon Hockey Club...
Come on in! Beginners welcome. Here's a few FAQ's to help you get to know us:
Q: WHO ARE WE?
A: Croydon Hockey Club, founded in 1905. We have a great history and the emphasis has always been on enjoying ourselves both on and off the Hockey field!
Q: WHERE ARE WE?
A: Our home Astroturf pitch is at Harris Academy, which is handily situated for Croydon, Norbury, South Norwood, Streatham, Tooting and Mitcham. We also train at Canterbury Road Recreation Ground in West Croydon on Tuesday nights and you are very welcome to join in.
Q: WHAT DO WE DO?
A1: Play Hockey! We currently have 8 teams made up of 3 ladies teams, a mixed team and 4 mens teams. The Ladies and Men's teams play on Saturdays in competitive leagues at various different standards. Our mixed team play on Sundays and there are a number of one day tournaments throughout the year, so there is something for everyone. Most games are played on Astroturf pitches, although our Mixed and Men's 4th team play their home games on grass.
A2: Enjoy each others company. Our regular social events are the stuff of legends! Events like horse racing, golf, movies, quiz nights or just a good old pub crawl often feature in our diary. We also have a formal dinner dance every spring to celebrate (or commiserate) the end of each season and to present trophies in recognition of team and individual achievements.
Q: WHO RUNS THE CLUB?
A: The club committee meet regularly to ensure the fixtures, finances and fun are well managed. Our team Captains represent their players & members on the committee, so everyone is involved.
Q: WHAT IF I'VE NEVER PLAYED BEFORE?
A: Don't worry! Our men's 2nd team Captain was a complete beginner when he joined a few years ago. All we ask for is a desire to play, to learn and to enjoy. New players of any ability are always made welcome.
